Have you tried any other Mario Badescu products?
So many youtubers have been touting Mario Badescu drying lotion for a while now. I thought it was too good to be true to just slap on a little on your acne/breakout at night, go to bed and wake up in the morning with the blackhead all dried up. I was too skeptical to try it and the $ 17 price point just seemed a little steep for me. But after some hormonal breakouts completely trashed my face last month I had to cave in. And boy was I given a run for my money. This thing is seriously the best $ 17 I have a ever spent! Every time a pimple pops up on my face I dont freak out anymore as I know it will be gone by tomorrow morning.

So I stumbled upon this show last week on Netflix. I had heard many people talk about it, but I was worried that since I hadn't finished watching Breaking Bad - I would not understand a thing. But, alas I was presently surprised - in my opinion you dont need to know what happens in Breaking Bad to enjoy Better Call Saul. It follows Jimmy McGill as he sets up his Law firm in Alburquerque. This guy is a fighter - and some of his ways are just hilarious. You either love him or hate him there is no in-between with this guy!
I just finished binge watching it and I was glad to see that Season 2 starts on Feb 15th. Nordstrom Shift dress // Urban Outfitters Scarf // Zoeva Brushes //Zara Biker Jacket // ASOS shirt // Topshop Bomber Jacket // Nordstrom T-shirt // ASOS Culottes Since I started the Capsule wardrobe thing last fall, after reading Vivianna's post and Caroline's Blog I am only buying clothes that I need for a particular season and only clothes I have put on my "to buy" list. I have stuck with the basics and my bank accounts thank me for it :). This has also helped me figure out my style and stopped me from buying things I don't need, but buy because they are on sale! (*facepalm). I now make lists and only get the stuff on the list whenever I update my Capsule wardrobe for the next season or cycle. This is not only practical but pretty fun too.
Although I am not actually buying clothes right now since I updated my Winter Wardrobe in January - I am enjoying making wishlists. In the past year I tried a number of different mascaras. I have put together four that are worth mentioning. I will start with the one that didnt work for me - The Sephora mascara - this mascara's wand was just a no no for me. The wand was just way too big. It felt like it could poke my eye! I enjoyed both the Benefit Roller lash and Maybelline lash sensational. I feel like these two mascaras have the same or very similar wands. They are both ok but if given the choice to only pick one I would have to pick the Maybelline lash sensational because of its cheaper price point even though the Benefit roller lash has a better formula. For me the winner is the Clinique High Impact mascara. Everything about it just feels right - the formula and the wand are perfect especially for people with extremely curly lashes like me. This wand is able to get in between the lashes with ease. I will definitely be repurchasing this one.
For years I have been on the hunt for a perfect shampoo and conditioner, and now I can safely say I have found exactly what I have been looking for, in the Burt's Bees Mango hair care duo. I have tried a lot of stuff out there, be it drug store or high end, but something was always off until I found these gems. These are sulfate free, therefore they do not strip my hair and after every wash my hair is shiny, moisturized and smells amazing.
Another selling point for me was that they are super affordable (about $8 each). What more can a girl ask for? This duo meets all my expectations and even exceeds them - My hair is happy :) What have you been using lately? I was in the mood for fries but I still wanted to be healthy. So i decided to bake them instead of frying. They turned out pretty good and tasted amazing. They are pretty easy to make as well. Salt and spices of your choice
3 medium potatoes 2 tablespoons oil Instructions Wash and peel potatoes. Cut the potatoes into thin slices and put them in a large bowl. Soak the potatoes in cold water for 30mins. You can soak overnight in the fridge as well. Drain fries and blot them with paper towels. Add seasoning and oil to a bowl and mix thoroughly. Preheat oven to 400 F and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Spray with cooking oil before adding the fries. Bake for 30 mins and you can turn the fries halfway through the baking. I have a couple of events coming up and I am tired of the blazers I have in rotation so its time for some shopping. One problem I can't choose. Oh Asos why do you have so much pretty things! Here are the five I am trying to choose from.
Been trying to eat healthy foods lately so I am including a lot of veggies in my meals. This is a simple dinner thats just perfect after a long day as it doesn't take too long to prepare.
Ingredients Baby Kale, Tomato, Onion, Salami, Cheese and Tortilla Method Melt a dollop of butter on a heated pan. Add your tortilla and turn onto the other side when crisp. Remove tortilla, put it in a wide plate and immediately add cheese to the hot tortilla. Both shredded or sliced cheese work. The heat of the tortilla will melt the cheese. In the remaining melted butter fry the onion, tomato and baby kale for a minute or so. You can add seasoning if you would like. Add salami slices on top of the melted cheese and spread the fried veggies on top. Fold your full tortilla in half and munch away my friend :) I had been trying to figure out how to pimp up my walls and make them more interesting. I knew I wanted to do a cool Gallery wall. I collect postcards from cities I visit so I thought maybe just frame them and hang them. Somehow I felt as if they did not go so well together or that I want to do something else with them. I was in a bind because I really wanted my gallery wall to have something to do with travel. I sat on that idea for a while.
Then I ran into this LikeaSaturday post by Rachel. She made an awesome bathroom gallery wall. I was hooked. I loved the Rifle Paper Co. calendar she used. The calendar theme was cities!! Travel! I ordered my calendar online for $10 since the year is about to end it was on sale! Score. Got me some command strips and frames (NYTTJA 8.5 x 11") from Ikea. I decided to get the bigger frame though, unlike Rachel I wanted to keep the name of each city. Now my bedroom is all cute and awesome! So i kinda suck at being healthy or maintaining a proper healthy lifestyle.Recently I got a wake up call! I attended a seminar about heart attacks in women and how different the symptoms are from those in men. Most women and even the health workers attending to them do not realize they are having a heart attack until its too late. So this woman was talking about the symptoms we should look out for because in the last years more women than men have died from heart attacks. The numbers shocked me. I thought to myself that I needed to change my lifestyle; exercise more, eat other things other than fries and just do better. So lately thats what I have been doing. My day starts real early. Having a shake whether just a Protein shake or a fruit smoothie cuts my breakfast preparing time plus it is healthier than my previous kinda breakfast. Another plus is that i can drink it on the go if I am running late. Been doing it for a while and I love it. I feel full until lunchtime. Been working out in the gym 2-3 times a week. Netflix has been my treadmill buddy lately. More on keeping up workouts later. I also got a shaker from Trimr via Amazon. Good for the Protein shake days as it mixes everything pretty well. It has a straw as well as a part for chugging. It can also double as a fancy water bottle ;) Another time saving trick I have found is to figure out how much of each fruit I need and pack the portions I need in Ziploc bags and just pop them in the Blender in the morning.
I put 1/2 cup blueberries 1/4 cup strawberries 1/2 banana In the morning I add milk and scoop of protein and blend it all together. On my naughty days I also add a scoop of ice cream. I tend to use very ripe to over-ripe bananas as they are sweeter. |
